This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with
the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in “Basic Life Support & Automated External Defibrillator (AED)” in emergency situations.
The Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (RQF) qualification has been designed for those who have a specific interest or responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities to provide basic life support when dealing with an
emergency situation which may involve using an AED.
Over a half day period, Learners will develop the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of first aid situations and safely use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Topics covered include: managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, using an AED on both adults and children, combining AED use with CPR and more.
3 x Practical assessments and continuous formative assessment conductedthroughout the course.
Refeshments provided during the course (tea, coffee, water).
Attendees should wear comfortable casual clothing.
On succesful completion a certificate is issued by the awarding body which is valid for 3 years. Annual CPD is reccomended during this 3 year accreditation period.
